Staff augmentation: senior IT talent, on your timeline

Senior cloud architects, DBAs, developers, and project managers, on contract or contract-to-hire, vetted by people who do this work themselves.

The hiring math nobody has time for

A senior cloud architect or DBA hire takes months: sourcing, screening, interview loops, an offer that has to beat what a bigger company is dangling, and then onboarding time before they are actually productive. Most of the work that needs this kind of experience is not permanent. It is a migration, a system implementation, coverage during a search, or surge capacity for a deadline that will not move.

The usual alternative, a staffing agency, solves the speed problem and creates a new one: the recruiter matching keywords on a resume cannot tell a strong DBA from a mediocre one. You find out which you got three weeks into the engagement.

We place from the same bench we use to run our own client engagements, and the person who vets a candidate's Oracle or Kubernetes experience is someone who does that work themselves, not a recruiter reading off a checklist.

Roles we place

  • Cloud Architects & Engineers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Database Administrators (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Full-Stack Developers (React, Node.js, Python, .NET)
  • DevOps & Platform Engineers
  • IT Project & Program Managers
  • Security & Compliance Specialists

How engagements work

  1. 01Scope the roleA short call on the skill, the duration, and what "good" looks like for this specific engagement, not a generic job description.
  2. 02Technical vettingA senior engineer in the relevant discipline evaluates the candidate before you ever see a resume. We turn down candidates we would not put in front of our own clients.
  3. 03PlacementContract, or contract-to-hire if you want to evaluate fit before committing. US-based, no offshore handoff.
  4. 04Ongoing accountabilityWe stay engaged for the duration, not just through the placement fee. If it is not working, we hear about it and fix it fast.

What we're not

What we do
  • Senior, specialist placements: cloud, database, DevOps, development, PM.
  • Technical vetting by someone who actually does the work.
  • Contract and contract-to-hire, on your timeline.
What we don't do
  • High-volume, lowest-bid placements. We are not competing on headcount discounts.
  • Offshore placements. Every candidate we place is US-based.
  • Resume-matching without technical review. Every candidate is vetted by a specialist first.

Common questions

How is this different from a staffing agency?

A generalist recruiter matches keywords on a resume. Every candidate we place is technically vetted first by a senior engineer in that discipline, someone who would have to work alongside a bad hire on our own engagements. We turn down candidates we would not put in front of our own clients.

Can we hire the contractor directly later?

Yes. Contract-to-hire is a normal path here, not a penalty box. If the fit is right, we make the transition straightforward rather than trying to keep someone on contract indefinitely.

What roles do you place?

Cloud architects and engineers across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, Oracle and SQL Server DBAs, full-stack developers, DevOps and platform engineers, IT project managers, and security specialists. If a role falls outside that list, ask; the bench is broader than the list on this page.

How fast can you find someone?

Days, not months, for roles that match our existing bench. A more specialized or unusual request takes longer to vet properly, and we will tell you honestly on the scope call rather than promise a date we cannot hit.

Do you place offshore contractors?

No. Every candidate we place is US-based. That is a sitewide commitment, not a placement-specific one.

What happens if the placement isn’t working out?

Tell us early. We stay engaged for the duration of the engagement, not just through the placement, and would rather hear about a mismatch in week two than week ten.

A short call is usually enough to know whether we have the right person on the bench, or whether we're honestly not the right fit for this one.
